Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world, with approximately 303 billion barrels of oil, as well as substantial natural gas resources, estimated at 195 to 205 trillion cubic feet. These resources offer significant long-term potential for energy supply, security, and growth.
Significant production upside
Historically, Venezuela has operated as a major oil producer, with national production peaking at approximately 3.7 million barrels per day. At present, production stands at 860,000 to 1.14 million barrels per day, with plans to expand capacity exponentially.
