Venezuela Energy Week Takes Investment Drive to ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi
Venezuela Energy Week (VEW), organized by Energy Capital & Power (ECP), is launching an international investment drive at ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi from November 2-5. The delegation will target Gulf-based institutional investors, project developers and national oil companies (NOCs) as Middle Eastern capital accelerates its entry into Venezuela’s $76-billion hydrocarbons rollout.

Venezuela’s push for private capital has gathered momentum through 2026, setting the stage for a pivotal forum in Caracas this February. On October 17, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez said the country expects almost $76 billion of oil and gas investment over the next five years. She confirmed that 61 agreements have been signed under the revamped hydrocarbons framework and 44 more are in negotiation, estimating that the investment will generate more than 324,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs.

Gulf companies are among the first partners stepping in to support Venezuela’s hydrocarbon resurgence. In August, XRG – ADNOC’s international energy investment company – entered Venezuela through an interest in the offshore Loran gas license transferred by PDVSA Gas. XRG holds equal stakes in the license with bp and Qatar’s UCC Oil and Gas. Loran contains more than four trillion cubic feet of proven gas and forms part of the Loran-Manatee accumulation shared with Trinidad and Tobago. “Venezuela holds significant gas resources and has the potential to play a greater role in meeting regional and international energy demand,” said Mohamed Al Aryani, President of International Gas at XRG.

ADIPEC follows the VEW Industry Showcases in Houston and London earlier in 2026, extending the event’s global outreach to the Middle East. In Abu Dhabi, the team will introduce Gulf operators and financiers to the program planned for Caracas. VEW 2027 will cover refining, logistics, storage and gas infrastructure alongside upstream development.

Companies engaged at ADIPEC will be invited to Caracas in February to continue discussions with PDVSA and Venezuelan private operators. Those discussions will take place through ministerial dialogues and dedicated business-to-business sessions, placing Middle Eastern capital alongside Venezuelan partners as the country scales up production.

Venezuela Energy Week 2027 takes place February 22-25, 2027 at the Simon Bolivar Convention Center in Caracas. Organized by Energy Capital & Power and taking place under the patronage of Acting President Delcy Rodríguez, PDVSA and the Ministry of Hydrocarbons.
