Crixto Joins VEW 2027 as Diamond Sponsor as Financial Technology Broadens Venezuelan Investment Models
Taking place February 22–25, 2027, in Caracas, VEW 2027 represents the premier deal-signing platform for the country’s oil, gas and broader energy sectors. Convening government representatives, industry leaders, global investors and operators, the event will connect capital to projects as Venezuela enters a new era of investment. Crixto’s participation reflects the expanding role of domestic financial platforms in supporting Venezuela’s investment recovery, as the country moves from regulatory reform toward project execution.
As a digital financial technology platform, Crixto provides online payment solutions through Distributed Ledger Technology, offering an alternative payment infrastructure designed to support transparency, efficiency and security. The company operates a Stablecoin Payment System (SPS) and is the first company in Venezuela with official legal authorization to operate with stablecoins. The platform allows users to make payments across multiple businesses in Venezuela, supporting transactions across a variety of industries. As the country’s energy sector witnesses a new wave of activity, anchored by growing international transactions, greater participation by local players and emerging investment opportunities across the energy value chain, platforms such as Crixto bring fresh avenues for financial connectivity and payments.
Crixto’s participation at VEW 2027 signals the company’s commitment to supporting the country’s energy evolution. It also comes as investment momentum continues to build. Upstream, international majors are staging a rapid return to the market, signing deals across brownfield project development, seizing new acreage and partnering with PDVSA and other local companies.
Chevron is putting more than $7 billion behind its Venezuelan joint ventures over the next five years, targeting production of approximately 600,000 barrels per day from around 280,000 bpd today. Eni finalized a 25-year production-sharing contract for the Junín 5 heavy-oil project, becoming its exclusive operator, while GeoPark and Grupo Gilinski secured a 25-year contract to develop the Bare heavy-oil block. These transactions demonstrate how Venezuela’s evolving regulatory framework is translating into new operating commitments and long-term investment opportunities.
Investment activity is extending into the services and infrastructure segments. Halliburton signed separate agreements with Brazil’s Eneva and WESCA in September to pursue project development, field evaluation and technical planning opportunities. In the power sector, GE Vernova has outlined a phased program for the country, targeting 1 GW of new reliable power within 24 months and a further 5 GW in the long-term.
At the same time, Venezuela is rebuilding its connections to international financial markets. The International Monetary Fund and World Bank resumed engagement with the country in April 2026, while the Inter-American Development Bank has begun developing a two-year engagement plan that could include electricity infrastructure.
This changing environment places financial platforms such as Crixto within a broader commercial opportunity. As international operators commit capital and new projects move toward implementation, Venezuela will require stronger financial connectivity, transaction capabilities and investment partnerships to support activity across upstream, midstream, downstream and associated services. Solutions built around digital assets, payment technologies and compliance with applicable regulatory standards can contribute to the financial infrastructure needed to support this activity.
Crixto’s Diamond Sponsorship of VEW 2027 brings Venezuela’s domestic financial technology sector into direct engagement with the international companies and capital providers driving this next investment cycle.
